This webpage presents the main research activities on photocatalysis developed by the research groups Química Inorgánica (FQM-175) and Química de Compuestos Laminares (FQM-214) at the IQUEMA Institute of the University of Córdoba.
The research activities of both groups focus on the design, synthesis and characterization of advanced inorganic materials for photocatalytic applications. In particular, the work involves the development of photocatalytic materials based on layered double hydroxides (LDHs). These materials are investigated for environmental remediation, including the photocatalytic removal of nitrogen oxides (DeNOx processes) from air and the degradation of emerging contaminants in water.
Advanced inorganic materials for energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, environmental remediation, and inorganic additives for sustainable construction.
Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) for adsorption of contaminants in water and soils, catalytic applications, nanoformulations of agrochemicals, and LDH-based composite materials for environmental and biomedical applications. and IoT technologies applied to the construction sector.
